Kenya awaits results of Odinga-Ruto showdown

Among the four candidates running in this new presidential election, the two front-runners, Raila Odinga and William Ruto, have assured that they will recognize the results. But Kenya feared on August 10 that it would once again be caught up in a post-election saga with which it is familiar, as all elections since 2002 have been contested in the country, which is considered a democratic anchor in the region. Unless one of them wins more than 50 per cent of the vote and is directly elected, the two leading candidates will face each other in a run-off election within 30 days.
